Synergy in Business- Creativity and Common Vision
Spiritual renewal of our value system is essential for us to review and recommit to our motives in life. Such renewals need investment of time and that helps us become more vigorous towards our goals.
When we renew the spiritual dimension, it provides a leadership to our life. The spiritual dimension is the central and very private area of our life. It symbolizes our commitment to the value system. Spirituality draws upon sources that inspire and uplift us onto the timeless truths of humanity.
Different people use different methods to renew their spiritual dimensions. Some of them meditate; some of them immerse themselves in music or literature while some communicate with nature. The renewed strength stays on till gradually the din and conflict from the outside weakens the sense of inner place.
Stephen Covey, in his book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” mentions a story by Arthur Gordon called “The Turn of the Tide.” It talks about a doctor’s prescription to Gordon, when the latter went to the former complaining of lost enthusiasm. Gordon was advised to go to a place where he had felt happiest as a child, and handed him four prescriptions to follow. Gordon went to a beach and did all the four activities as prescribed by the doctor. They were ‘Listen carefully,’ ‘Try reaching back,’ ‘Examine your motives,’ and ‘Write your worries on sand.’ As he did these things, he found great peace of mind and happiness, recognized his correct motives and forgot his worries.
A spiritual renewal takes time. Prayer should be a source of energy rather than a routine duty. We have to realize that spirituality is the leadership centre of our lives and it has to refresh us to live life to the fullest. A personal mission statement is essential to us so that we keep on reviewing and recommitting to it.
If the inner battles of the soul are won, we feel a sense of peach and awareness of what we are about. Public victory also follows such peace of mind.
All the best,
